Steve Kirin Transitions to CEO

What an exciting time it is at NCBTMB! A time of reflection and a time to look to the future.  And with that reflection comes the realization that Mike Williams has successfully accomplished what we asked him to do and now, as a fitting conclusion to his tenure and based on his recommendation, Steve Kirin (currently COO) will transition into the role of CEO and will continue the momentum into the future.

Speaking for the Board, we thank Mike Williams for the leadership and contributions he has brought to the NCB. Under Mike’s guidance—along with Steve’s assistance, much has been accomplished, including:

  • Moving NCB from a paper-based organization to a digitally-efficient organization—including online registration for its exams products (reducing registration time from weeks to just minutes).
  • Establishing a new credential—Board Certification—to allow those qualified and interested to distinguish themselves within the profession and with the public they serve.
  • Strategizing and building a new website, social media presences, and a cooperative Sounding Board of member volunteers—enabling better communications and engagements with the profession and the public.
  • Bringing stronger focus to the significant problem of human trafficking and strengthening the industry’s relationship with the Polaris Project.

With all the above underway, we’re ready to welcome Steve as our permanent CEO. He is a perfect candidate to naturally transition into this role; Steve has been involved in every aspect of NCB since joining us in December 2011.

This is a natural and exciting progression for all of us. Mike—we’ll miss you. Steve—we welcome you as CEO.  We’re excited to support you and continue our journey together!
